Certified Athletic Therapists treat a wide range of patients from post op surgical individuals to athletes suffering from a concussion. Athletic Therapists utilize the Sports Medicine Model of treatment are are effective in treating everyday active individuals including:
- Injuries sustained at work
- Emergencies such as concussions or fractures at a sporting event
- Everyday activities leading to joint and muscle pain
- Chronic conditions such as arthritis and fibromyalgia
- Injuries sustained during daily activities such as shoveling snow or gardening
The main objective of an Athletic Therapist is to return the individual to their daily activities in a pain free, functional manner.
Athletic Therapists will customize your treatment plan based on extensive knowledge in the areas of biomechanics, exercise physiology and human anatomy. We can create a preventative plan with maintenance or rehabilitate an acute or chronic injury and provide the necessary reconditioning to prevent further

What is the Difference between Athletic Therapy and Physiotherapy?
Both professions provide hand-on treatments that involve creating an individualized treatment plan for the patient’s specific needs and goals. Athletic Therapy is typically a four year degree program that specializes in becoming proficient in human anatomy, physiology and biomechanics allowing a whole body approach to care.
