Words We Live By

WE ARE ALL ABOUT TRUST AND WE PLAN TO EARN IT FROM YOU. HOW, YOU ASK?

A LITTLE SOMETHING BRUNÉ BROWN REFERS TO AS “B-R-A-V-I-N-G”.

Boundaries

We set them together. We are clear on what’s okay and not okay and when we aren’t, we ask.

Reliability

We do what we say and we say what we do.

Accountable

We hold people accountable and we expect you to do the same.

The Vault

It’s not secrecy, it’s confidentiality. It’s not just about what we don’t say about you, your story and your health; it’s about not using other people’s stories in a bid for connection with someone who doesn’t own the rights to it in the first place. Your story is yours and yours alone. We respect that. That said, we can’t promise not to question who’s authoring it or that we won’t occasionally suggest you revisit a painful chapter, start a new one or write a letter to the editor.

Integrity

We choose courage over comfort as often as possible. We do discomfort here (and we think we do it pretty darn well!). If you don’t, you’re welcome here, but expect to shift in your seat – often.

Non-judgement

You can show up here, on your knees with upturned hands and ask for help without fear of judgement. We expect you’ll grant us the same space for vulnerability. Healthcare practitioners, doctors and otherwise, are people. We have just as much work to do as the next guy. Show up and you won’t be disappointed.

Generosity

We do our absolute best to assume positive intent and we’d ask you to do the same.

“KūRATED living isn’t about a pristine house full with the smell of gluten free, dairy free, sugar free, home baked bread, white pants and puppies that don’t pee in the middle of the kitchen floor. It’s not a place at which you arrive. It’s living life – awake. It’s an acknowledgement that progress trumps perfection and community is king. So long as each of us is making the moment to moment choices necessary to move us in the direction of health and happiness, we’re leaving our families, our communities and the world a better place than we found it.”
