Jessica has spent over 15 years delivering mental health services to an underserved population. Jessica has been with the KuRated team for 2 years and brings a wealth of therapeutic experience to the clinic.
She is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
Jessica has experience working with individuals and groups with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and adjustment disorders. Jessica believes in life long learning and continues to expand her skills and work with men, women and families through life’s many complicated transitions. Jessica believes it takes discipline and focus to achieve your goals.
Jessica takes a compassion focused approach to therapy. Have you ever listened to the way you speak to yourself? I mean really listen to the words and tone of your on-going self talk. Jessica aims to help clients become their best possible selves. Whether this means making major life changes or simply tweaking a few aspects of your day-to-day life.
Jessica practices positive psychology with a strengths based perspective, helping her clients identify existing strengths and resources to build upon for life long mental wellness. While she believes the therapeutic relationship is integral in the change process, she actively works to help her clients cultivate a compassionate relationship with the self using Compassionate Focused interventions.
Jessica is experienced working with behavioural interventions and implementing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for a variety of mental disorders and trauma. As part of her life long learning journey, she is focused on enhancing her skill and knowledge of Brief Solution Focused Therapy with individuals and couples.
Jessica is excited to offer her skills, knowledge, expertise and unwavering empathy and compassion to her clients. She is open to working with youth and adult individuals and couples to help achieve mental wellness.
Therapy can often lead to an increase in quality of life for the client, enriching relationships, replacing negative/unwanted behaviors with positive coping mechanisms and a gained understanding of one’s past and inner motivations.
