The immune system is responsible for protecting us – for better or for worse. Your immune system can mount an immune response in just seconds which is as incredible as it can be harmful in that your body doesn’t really do things half way. An inflammatory response can be provoked for good reason or based off a perceived threat to the system at large.

Research has confirmed that the root cause of most chronic health problems is systemic inflammation. In order to live a life free of chronic health problems means we need to master the art of detoxing daily through our skin, liver, kidney, bowels and lungs. Making sure the detox pathways are clear ensures there’s no “back log” of work and hence reduces inflammation in the body. We need to support our body in its ability to detox all our daily inputs through these tissues with ease.

You see, the common misconception about the immune system and detoxing is that we need to teach our body how to do it. This is fundamentally incorrect – your body isn’t some rogue machine – it’s a finely tuned instrument that, when nurtured appropriately, will respond in perfect harmony by mounting an immune response proportional to the threat and just long enough to ward off the invader(s) and detoxes thousands of substances for us daily without so much as a thought!

That said, we need to do out part by ensuring we aren’t shorting the system. We need to ensure we are fuelling our bodies with foods, activities and stimuli that our body sees as a friend and not foe in order to ensure our body have the resources to assess, sort and process thousands of inputs we give it on a daily basis in the very way it was designed to do so.

Inflammation can show up as the root cause of many conditions, including but not limited to:
