Bronwyn Riha

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Individual Psychotherapy

My goal is to create a therapeutic space that is safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental; that honours your intersectional identity, culture, and unique life experiences. I strongly believe in utilizing a client-centered approach, meeting each person where they might be in their own personal journey and offering the encouragement or support that matches each individual’s needs.

Master’s Level MA in Counselling Psychology practicum student who is qualified to practice onsite under the clinical supervision of a Registered Psychotherapist/Social Worker.

Before completing the Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program at Yorkville University, my undergraduate studies focused on interpersonal communication, analyzing patterns of behaviour and the emotional well-being of women, in particular. Since then, I have built a career based upon person-centered work and hospitality management, culminating in the pursuit of counselling and psychotherapy.

In doing so, our goal will be to develop a collaborative therapeutic relationship that fosters a deeper connection with oneself.

In focusing my practice on young adults, women, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, I often see positive benefits in using an integrative approach to best develop a treatment plan together. While adjusting our pace to meet your individual needs, sessions will be informed by several theoretical orientations — including narrative and solution-focused techniques meant to approach topics like anxiety, self-esteem, people-pleasing behaviours, conflict resolution, life transitions, perfectionism, stress, and burnout.

When not in the office, I can typically be found spending time outdoors with my dogs and always with a coffee in my hand. I’m a self-proclaimed “busy body” that loves to keep active, create in the kitchen, socialize with friends, garden on the weekends, and spend time with family. I always welcome new experiences, new connections, and all podcast recommendations!

As I continue to progress through my practicum as part of the KuRated team, my greatest privilege is the ability to work alongside you on your wellness journey and provide ongoing dedication and support.
