About Janae:

Janae is a Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist who believes deeply in the power of being witnessed with compassion. She believes your story matters—not only what you’ve experienced, but how you’ve made sense of it, what you’ve carried, and how those experiences have shaped the person you are today.

Janae brings years of experience working alongside people whose lives have been shaped by complex personal, social, and systemic circumstances. Her experiences have taught her to look beyond the surface—to consider not only “What is happening?” but also “What happened?”, “What have you had to carry?”, and “What has the world asked of you?”

For Janae, therapy is an opportunity to create a space where clients’ experiences can be heard without judgment, their perspectives are honoured, and they can begin to understand their stories with greater clarity and compassion.

Therapeutic Style:

Janae’s approach is warm, thoughtful, trauma-informed, holistic, and culturally responsive. She believes therapy should be collaborative and grounded in genuine connection—not a place where clients are expected to perform, have the right answers, or fit themselves into a particular version of who they are supposed to be.

She does not see her clients as problems to be solved.

Instead, Janae sees therapy as an opportunity to better understand oneself by exploring the experiences that have shaped you, recognizing patterns that may no longer be serving you, and create meaningful change that feels authentic.

She brings both depth and practicality into her work. Sessions can hold space for complicated feelings while also exploring meaningful ways to move through them.

What to Expect:

Therapy that makes space for the whole you.

Clients can expect a space where they are encouraged to show up as they are. Janae will meet you with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment. She believes therapy is a collaborative process, and the work will be guided by what matters most to you, at a pace that feels supportive and meaningful.

Your work with Janae may involve understanding the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, learning to recognize your needs, developing healthier boundaries, making sense of your relationships, processing experiences that continue to live in your present, or rebuilding a relationship with yourself that has become strained along the way.

Sometimes healing looks like learning to say no.

Sometimes it looks like grieving the person you had to become.

Sometimes it looks like realizing that peace does not have to be earned.

And sometimes it looks much simpler: finally having somewhere to put what you’ve been carrying.

Janae will walk alongside you as you listen more closely to yourself, understand your experiences with greater compassion, and decide what you want your next chapter to hold.
